Chicago Green Skyscraper Team Voicethread

  1. Amazing details and so much information! The little fact about Willis Tower really caught me unawares. That's a huge carbon footprint.

Very clear Call to Action - you're giving us specific ways that we can help, which is great.

I see connections with Math, Science and Geography.

    - What's the ratio of skyscrapers to single story buildings. Can this be measured in terms of area covered? Which kind of building has a larger carbon footprint? Can this be broken down to carbon emission per sq ft of building space?

    - How does having a skyscraper affect a neighborhood's emissions? Density of population? Demographics?

  2. There was a wealth of information on this video. However, for me, there was just too much talking, after a while I lost interest in what was being said. The change of voices was good, but still not enough to hold my attention.A little music or something would help so it wouldn't be so much talking. I did learn what things needed to be done in order to help Chicago go green. The page displaying the politicians and policy makers would make a good social studies/ government lesson, identifying those people, their job titles and their roles in policy making.

  3. 1) Architectural renderings; voice overs; mosaic of buildings—awesome! I’m sure folks will want you to share that tool!
    2) Great facts! Love the specificity of the facts and figures!! Totally appropriate for the audience! Use of beautiful images—great design highlighting great design!
    3) A ton of new information! I’m a sucker for numbers!
4)If I had the power to make these kinds of decisions, I would totally put wind turbine skyscrapers in Chicago! At my current paygrade, however, I’m inspired to do research about the different buildings around the world that were mentioned—they look like the future!
    5) If I were to do a project like this with students, I’d want to invest in a mid-range microphone. You guys sounded fine, but audio is always an unknown when working with students. Curious—did you think about your “performances” as part of the piece?
    6) Architecture/ geometry/algebra/etc; SS: researching values of other countries where there are more sky scrapers
