  1. I saw traffic and garbage jams, how not to/how to handle garbage. Two items hit my gut, the children singing “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and the transition of washing hands pointing toward how to handle garbage. Also, the electricity cost money picture. No new knowledge gained. Inspires me to recycle and raised my consciousness about how I dispose of my garbage. Very well, done enjoyed symbolism of pictures and sounds. As a LA activity, students could write their interpretation of the story line.

  2. 1) “The Beginning” instead of “The End;” variety of found images and composed, film and photo; “He’s got the whole world…” Images of NSCP’s nature, juxtaposed with yucky trash images; car horns
    2) “The Beginning” I loved that it gave me a moment’s pause, and then I had to answer the question for myself, “The beginning of what?” ; The car horns got me in the gut—I hate that sound, but it was used incredibly effectively here to evoke a feeling of urgency and just “Shut it off, already!” feeling
    3) I can’t say I learned anything new here, though I liked the way that the visual metaphor of letting the water run presented ideas without over-interpreting them for me—I liked making my own meaning there!
    4) Because parts of it were filmed here where we are, it made me want to keep the school clean—the familiar images made me hyper aware of how we are shepherds of this space we’re all sharing.
    5) I would loved to have seen what you would have done with all original images and footage—Your photos/shots were so artful and evocative that I almost felt like the google images took away from your lovely original work.
    6) Math: (Time the water is left on) * (waste/second) = water wasted per each activity; Language Arts: Metaphor, mood/tone

  4. I enjoyed the second half of the video with the greenery, the song and giving the message that this is the beginning of changing our way of doing things. I viewed the honking horns as a wake up call to what we are doing to our earth. I didn't gain any new knowledge but it is a great PSA for students.

  5. I enjoyed the video and thought it provided a positive message. I had a hard time trying to figure out the audience or who you were targeting as well as the significance of the washing hands.
